What is WHOIS?

WHOIS is a system for looking up information about domains. WHOIS will always show the following information:

• The status of the domain
• The creation date, expiration date, and the date the domain was last modified
• The name servers

If one of our customers has opted out of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), or if a domain is with another registrar who does not offer GDPR protection, this additional information will be shown:

• Contact information for the Registrant (Owner)
• Contact information for the Administrative and Technical Contacts
• Contact information for the Billing Contact may be shown depending on the type of domain
